5th/6th Band Play for Upcoming Middle Students
In the Elementary School, the 5th/6th Band played for the upcoming middle schoolers, the 4th graders, to promote the band. The event took place in the Elementary School’s Cafeteria. The event is very important to show the upcoming middle schoolers the opportunities that the middle school brings, and to bring new generations of band student's to our school.
New School Resource Officer
The community is introducing Chief Seeley as the school resource officer. She was announced as the resource officer on Tuesday April 16th, 2024. Why was she chosen you may ask, she has made an impact with her positive interactions with the community. She was able to get here by using the grant which she had to apply for. That gives them the opportunity to hire another officer which will expand the compartment which will expand the community and add more opportunities for others. The grant is 20 hours per week - shared between schools. Meaning she will be at the High School, Middle School, and Elementary School. The Central Office and the Village of Mancelona wrote the proposal grant for Chief Seeley to join the Mancelona Schools community. We are grateful to the Village of Mancelona for their partnership in this amazing achievement. Chief Seeley will be a visible, active law enforcement figure and provide a law enforcement resource to school administrators, teachers, and students. Thank you Chief Seeley for joining the Mancelona Public Schools, and good luck!
